Music on The Sopranos

The Music of The Sopranos, a U.S. television series, chose David Chase, the creator of the series, along with the music producer Martin Bruestle and music editor Kathryn Dayak, sometimes Steven Van Zandt him advice and support. The opening credits of each episode shows Tony Soprano ( James Gandolfini ) on his journey from New York to New Jersey and ends with his arrival at his family home in North Caldwell. As background music, the song Woke Up This Morning of the British music group Alabama 3 in the Chosen One Remix is heard.

Credits

In the credits of each episode almost hear a song that even previously, however, is not used in the episodes. In the tenth episode of the first season of a hit but a hit is the song of the fictional band Defiler is used, which can be heard already in the course of the episode. In the credits of the three episodes Bella Italia, Whitecaps and The sky over Paris are the same number of songs to listen to while in the two episodes of The Sopranos and pleasure to give fight back, no music will be used.

Alternative music in Europe

The version of the series, which aired in Europe, includes some other songs than the original American version. Replacing the music was made for licensing reasons and is done the same for all European synchronizations. The unaltered original pieces of music are on the English 5.1 soundtrack of European DVD releases include (but not in the 4:3 version of the first season, which only contains the modified soundtracks).

For one, The Sopranos (1999) with music from the first two seasons on the other The Sopranos - Peppers & Eggs (2001) with music from the first three seasons. The creators of the series have included many locally relevant artist in the series. Not all to be heard in the series performers came on one of the official soundtrack album.
