Nick Leddy

Nick Leddy ( born March 20, 1991 Eden Prairie, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who stands in July 2010 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Nick Leddy played during his junior period 2006-2009 Hockey at the Eden Prairie Eagles, the high school team in the Eden Prairie High School, in the high school league system of the United States. After completing his high school career Leddy won the annual award as Minnesota Mr. Hockey, which honors the best high school player of the U.S. state of Minnesota in the 2009 calendar year. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 in the first round at position 16 of the Minnesota Wild. The season 2009/10 he spent at the University of Minnesota and played for their hockey team, the Golden Gophers in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division. In February 2010, the Minnesota Wild 's NHL rights and Kim Johnsson of the Chicago Blackhawks gave from to acquire Cam Barker.

In July 2010, Leddy signed his first professional contract with the Blackhawks, which is valid for three years duration. On 7 October 2010 he made his debut in the game against the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League. Four days later, Leddy scored his first goal in the NHL, as he beat Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres with a flat wrist shot. On 17 October 2010 he was sent to the farm team to the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League, for which he then regularly was used. In January 2011, Leddy was recalled to the NHL squad the Blackhawks.

Internationally

Leddy represented his country at the U20 World Youth Championship in 2011 and won the bronze medal.
