Niklas Hjalmarsson

Niklas Hjalmarsson ( born June 6, 1987 in Eksjö ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who stands since 2007 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Niklas Hjalmarsson began his career as a hockey player in his native Sweden in the youth of the HV 71 Jönköping, for the first team, he was active from 2004 to 2007 in the Elitserien. During this period, the defender in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in the fourth round as a total of 108 players from the Chicago Blackhawks in 2005.

For the Blackhawks, he was in the 2007/ 08 season his debut in the National Hockey League. Here, the Swede posted in his rookie year in 13 matches a template. In the following season the links Sagittarius end of the season played regularly in the NHL for Chicago, for which he was employed, among others, in all 17 playoff games. Since then, he runs for the team from Illinois, he plays in parallel for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Rockford IceHogs. In the 2009/10 season he won the Stanley Cup with Chicago. In early November 2012, he moved to Italy due to the lockout. There he ran for the HC Bolzano from the Serie A1.

Internationally

For Sweden Hjalmarsson took part in the U18 World Youth Championship 2005 and the Under-20 World Youth Championship in 2007. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the silver medal with the Swedish national team.
