David Rundblad

David Rundblad ( born October 8, 1990 in Lycksele ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender, who is since March 2014 for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

The Swede played since 2006 in Skellefteå AIK and came in the 2006/07 season in the youth teams to use. In the season 2007/ 08 he played six games for the first team since the 2008/ 09 season, Rundblad belongs to the tribe squad of Skellefteå. In the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 the defender was selected in the first round at 17th overall position of the St. Louis Blues. After another season in Sweden's highest league Rundblad signed in June 2010 for the Blues an entry contract for three years. A little later, however, he was transferred from the Blues in exchange for a first-round draft pick for the NHL Entry Draft in 2010 to the Ottawa Senators. When KHL Junior Draft 2010, he was selected in the second round at position 43 of Atlant Mytischtschi.

David Rundblad also completed the 2010/11 season in Skellefteå. The defender was achieved with 50 scorer points in 55 games most successful defender and was appointed following the season in the Elitserien All- Star Team and awarded the Salming Trophy. With 39 assists, he led also to the entire league in this category. In the play-offs this season, Skellefteå AIK played up in the final, which was lost to Färjestad BK.

At the beginning of the season 2011/12 substitute David Rundblad to North America to play for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. After 24 games for the Senators of the defenders was transferred 17 December 2011 together with a second-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 in exchange for Kyle Turris of the Phoenix Coyotes.

In early March 2014, shortly before the Trade Deadline, Rundblad was delivered together with Mathieu Brisebois to the Chicago Blackhawks, the charges in return for a second-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 to the Coyotes.

Internationally

Rundblad represented the Swedish national team for the first time at an international tournament at the U18 World Youth Championship in 2008. During the U20 Junior World Championship 2009, he won with his team after a final defeat against the Canadian national silver medal, in the following year, the team finished third Place.
