Nilvange

Nilvange ( German Nilvingen ) is a commune with 4913 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Thionville -Ouest and the Canton Algrange.

Geography

Nilvange located a few kilometers west of Thionville at an altitude 193-376 m above sea level. The municipality covers 2.81 km ². The connection point Nilvange off the Autoroute A30 lies to the south of the core site.

Demographics

The place is located in the Lorraine region and industry is a mining town. Since the decline of mining in Lorraine, the population of Nilvange decreases continuously.
