Rochonvillers

Rochonvillers ( German Ruxweiler ) is a commune with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Thionville -Ouest and the Canton Fontoy.

Geography

Rochonvillers is located northwest of Thionville near the Luxembourg border at an altitude 321-412 m above sea level, the average height is 400 m. The municipality covers 5.64 km ².

History

The village is known for the majority Ouvrage de Rochonvillers, a fort on the Maginot Line.
