Novoaltaysk

Nowoaltaisk (Russian Новоалтайск ) is a town in the mountainous region of Altai on the border of Western Siberia ( Asian part of Russia ). She has (October 14, 2010 Balance ) 70,437 inhabitants.

Geography

Nowoaltaisk situated about 12 km east of this as a satellite town of the regional capital Barnaul, on the right bank of the Ob and its tributary Tschesnokowka. The city is the administrative region subject to direct and also the administrative center of Rajons Pervomaisky.

Nowoaltaisk is an important railway junction, where the routes to Novosibirsk - Barnaul - Semipalatinsk crosses the South Siberian Railway from the direction of Pavlodar about Barnaul in the Kuznetsk Basin. History
