Geography
Geographical Location
Obersinn lies in the Würzburg region and is divided by the eponymous river in a sense Spessart and Rhön in a page. The nearby towns are called: Mittelsinn and Jossa, and Zeitlofs - Rossbach and aura in the sense reason. There is also the district Emmerichsthal. In the vicinity of the site the Ditte Brunner height, is named after the place Ditte Brunn, who belongs to Altengronau. The Viaduct Obersinn the high-speed line Hannover -Würzburg bears the name of the market. Obersinn has a station on the railway line Flieden - Gemünden.

Name
Etymology
The basic word in the name goes back to the place by flowing river sense. The additional top was used to (now Castle sense) to distinguish Obersinn of the nearby villages Mittelsinn and low sense and refers to the situation in the valley.

History
The majority of local rights of high Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire circle was 1808 fell to the Principality of Aschaffenburg (1803 only in Bavaria, 1805 to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg), with which they returned to Bavaria in 1814. The local rights of Hesse- Kassel in 1860 fell to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 64 in the area of trade and transport any social insurance contributions at the workplace. - Chess Flower Festival
Every year there are in Obersinn chess Flower Festival The fritillary is found mainly in the meadows near the bridge in Reith Obersinn.
- Eisenwahn Festival
Always in July, the biggest metal festival in Lower Franconia with nearly 2,000 visitors at the Ludwig - Zeller- ring held in Obersinn. The bands occurring mainly play the styles of Death Metal, Black Metal and Grindcore.
