Omar Pkhakadze

Omar Pchakadse ( born August 12, 1944 in Kutaisi, Georgia, † May 21, 1993 in Tbilisi ) was a Soviet racing cyclist Georgian nationality.

In 1965, Omar Pchakadse in San Sebastian World Sprint Champion of the Amateur, 1966 in Frankfurt, he was third in the sprint and 1969 in Brno vice-world champion in this discipline. Several times, he also set up world records over 200 meters.

Three times Pchakadse started the sprint at the Olympic Games, in 1964 in Tokyo, 1968 in Mexico City and in Munich in 1972, where he won the bronze medal behind his great French rival and gold medalist Daniel Morelon.
