Francesco Verri

Francesco Verri ( born June 11, 1885 in Mantua, † June 6, 1945 in Riotorto di Piombino ) was an Italian cyclist. At the 1906 Summer Olympics in Athens, he was one of six athletes who have won three gold medals. He won with a time of 01:42.2 over 1,000 meters time trial. For the victorious ride on the track lap he took 22.8 seconds and the race over 5,000 meters in 07:28.6, he chose for himself.

In the same year Verri also won the world championship in track sprint. In September 1906 Verri was professional from 1906 to 1911 as well as 1920 and 1921, he was Italian champion in the sprint train the professionals. During the First World War Ferri was active in the United States and won three six-day race there. 1924 ended Verri his professional career.
