Marcus Hurley

Marcus Latimer Hurley ( born December 22, 1883 in New Rochelle, New York, † March 28, 1941 in New York City ) was an American track cyclists and basketball players.

At the age of 17 years, Hurley American amateur champion in the sprint and defended that title for three years. At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis, he won the gold medal in the sprint race over a quarter mile, one third of a mile, a half mile and a mile. In the race over two miles, he reached the third place. Also in 1904 he became Sprint World champion in London.

By 1908 Hurley also played basketball for the New York Athletic Club and the Columbia University. Hurley lived in New York City, he was an engineer by profession.
