End of the 18th century began the " marketing " of this property after Pausa of 1850 for some decades Bad Pausa; the corresponding mineral water sources were detected in the 15th century. The exact location of the center point, and thus the exit point of the Earth's axis, changed over time: A standing in the market water box, a lid and a brass ball in the hall on the floor of the local inns. Today, the Earth's axis in the basement of the town hall can be visited for a fee and can be lubricated there too. Marketing is carried out also by " Erdachsenschmieröl " ( an herb ) is sold and the process is monitored by the Commission Erdachsendeckelscharnierschmiernippel - e to Pausa V..

The symbol of the village symbolizes - first published in 1934 - also a mounted on the town hall roof globe, today with a diameter of 3 meters and a weight of 1.2 tons. The model is illuminated at night and rotated (but against the sense of rotation of the Earth, otherwise the text " Pausa - Center of the Earth " would not be readable).
