Pru District

The Pru District is one of 138 districts in Ghana. It is located in the center of Ghana in the Brong- Ahafo Region, where one of 19 regional districts. It is bordered by the districts of Kintampo South, Kintampo South, Atebubu - Amantin, Sene and Nkoranza in the Brong- Ahafo Region. Nkoranza also borders the Ashanti Region with their district East Gonja.

The Pru District was only founded by presidential decree of 12 November 2003 in 2004 by splitting the former district Atebubu. Besides Pru also the district Atebubu - Amantin was newly established.

Constituencies

In the district of Pru an eponymous constituency has been established. Here Masoud Baba Abdul- Rahman won for the party National Democratic Congress (NDC ) in the 2004 parliamentary elections the seat in the Ghanaian parliament.
