Randy Turnbull

Randy Layne Turnbull ( born February 17, 1962 in Bentley, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his playing career, he played in the 1981/82 season for the Calgary Flames a game in the National Hockey League.

Career

First, Turnbull played from 1977 to 1979 for the Fort Saskatchewan Traders in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. His career continued with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League in the port.

NHL Entry Draft 1980 Turnbull was selected by the Calgary Flames in the fifth round at 97th overall position. In the season 1981/82 he completed his only NHL game for the Calgary Flames. With the Portland Winter Hawks, he took part in the 1982 Memorial Cup, after he had won with the team the President's Cup. The Enforcer was a role player who impressed the opponents in the junior Western Hockey League and in the minor leagues with his physical strength. He holds the record for penalty minutes the team of the Colorado Flames, for the defender played in the Central Hockey League. In the season 1986/87 the Canadians won the Turner Cup with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles. His career ended in 1988 in the dress of the Flint Spirits.
