1982–83 CHL season

The 1982/83 season was the 20th regular season of the Central Hockey League. The six teams completed in the regular season of 80 matches. The Central Hockey League was played in a division. The point of best team in the regular season were the Indianapolis Checkers, which also penetrated in the finals at the Adams Cup.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Cincinnati Tigers stopped the game operation.
  • The Dallas Black Hawks stopped the game operation.
  • The Fort Worth Texans stopped the match operation.
  • The Nashville South Stars were transferred to the Atlantic Coast Hockey League.
  • The Oklahoma City Stars stopped the game operation.
  • The Birmingham South Stars were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Colorado Flames were added as an expansion team in the league.
