Central Professional Hockey League

The Central Hockey League was a North American Hockey League Minor, which was founded in 1963 and in 1984 dissolved.

The League was established in 1963 as the Central Professional Hockey League, five years later renaming followed known as the Central Hockey League. The League held by the National Hockey League located was a replacement for the previously resolved Eastern Professional Hockey League and was even be completely organized and managed by the NHL. The first President of the Central Hockey League was Jack Adams, who led the league for the next five years. The championship trophy was named in his honor Adams Cup.

The league began in the season 1963/64, with five teams. These were the Omaha Knights, St. Paul Rangers, Minneapolis Bruins, St. Louis Braves and the Indianapolis Capitals. The Omaha Knights won the first team to the championship trophy, the Adams Cup. Throughout its history, the number of participants of the league fluctuated between four and nine franchises. None of the franchises was there the entire time active, many survived only a few years and have been resolved. After the 1983/84 season, which was played with five teams, followed at three franchises resolution, only the Indianapolis Checkers and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles led the operation of gambling then in the International Hockey League continued.
