Oklahoma City Blazers (1965–77)

The Oklahoma City Blazers were an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

History

The Minneapolis Bruins from the Central Professional Hockey League in 1965 after Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, relocated and renamed the Oklahoma City Blazers. In the first two seasons of existence, the team immediately won each of the Adams Cup. In the following years the team was able to twice reach the playoff final of the CHL, but could not build on the initial success and continued in the 1972/73 season even temporarily from the game operation.

Following the 1976/77 season the Blazers stopped the game operation. A year later the rights were sold to the franchise and the team played from now on as Oklahoma City Stars in the CHL. From 1992 to 2009 played a team under the name also Oklahoma City Blazers in the Central Hockey League edition.
