Wichita Wind

The Wichita Wind was an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League from Wichita, Kansas.

History

The Wichita Wind took the 1980/81 season on the operation of gambling in the Central Hockey League, in which they were the new farm team of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. In its premiere season, they reached the finals of the playoffs right away at the Adams Cup. In this they were subject to the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the best- of-seven series with 3:4 victories. After a Zweitrundenaus in the following season, they finished in the 1982/83 season in sixth and last place thus the regular season and thus missed the playoffs. Then put the team a game operation.
