Richard Masur

Richard D. Masur ( born November 20, 1948 in New York City, New York ) is an American actor.

Life

Masur was born in New York City, his mother was a teacher working at a college ( high school) and his father was a pharmacist. He is the brother of Judith Masur and married Fredda Weiss. Richard visited the Walt Whitman Junior High School and Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and later studied acting at the Yale School of Drama. Prior to joining the film, he had back in the early 70s some stage performances at the theater. To date, he may already booked appearances in over 30 television series and the 80 films in his filmography. For many he has become known from movies like Risky Business 1983, in Stephen King's It as a cast member of the Stanley Uris or My Girl -. My first love, where he plays the movie brother Phil Sultenfuss of Dan Aykroyd

From 1995 to 1999 he worked in two periods of service as president of the Screen Actors Guild, a union for actors. This is also the founder of the annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, also he sits in the corporate board of the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
