The Route nationale 21, just N 21 or RN 21, a French national road Imperiale in 1824 from the Route 24 emerged. Your first line routing was from Limoges to Barèges and Cauterets. 1859 Napoleon III decreed after a visit to Luz -Saint -Sauveur to extend the road to the Spanish border via Gavarnie.
