Rüscheid
Rüscheid is a municipality in the district of Neuwied in the north of Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rengsdorf.

Geography
The village lies on the edge of the Westerwald above the Neuwied Basin on a hill between the valleys of the Urbach in the west and in the east of the Siehrsbachs. The municipal territory, the east is occupied by Anhäuser Kirchspielwald, part of the Rhein-Westerwald Nature Park. To Rüscheid part of living space Rehhof.

History
The oldest written mention of Rüscheid goes back to a document from the year 1280. It bequeathed the Beguine Jutta von Rusthinscheit the Abbey Rommersdorf their goods in the parish Anhausen. The Rommersdorfer Abbey marked their land with boundary stones, into which a Abtsstab therein a tangled "A" and "R" was carved for Rommersdorf Abbey. This refers to the lower part of the coat of arms on the historical relationship of the community to Rüscheid Rommersdorf.
In March of 1945, Western Allied troops took Undertone Rüscheid in the operation. Rüscheid was part of the French zone of occupation; the first post-war years were full of privations.

The local council in Rüscheid consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.
Coat of arms
Peacock and oblique beams - the wiedischen coat of arms - point to the former territorial affiliation Rüscheids to the lower county Wied. The stylized mill is the image of a windmill, which was built at the southern end of the village of frilly Eider Friedrich Haag in 1880. His idea to use the top of the ridge always blowing wind to drive the mill wheel, however, proved to be very successful. Around 1930, the last remnants of the quarry stone building were canceled. However, the mill also symbolizes the cereal crops in the wide open fields.
