Seelingstädt

Seelingstädt (also Seelingstädt b. Werdau ) is a municipality in the administrative community Wünschendorf / Elster in the east of the district Greiz ( Thuringia). In Seelingstädt is a branch of the administration of the administrative community.

Geography

Geographical location

Seelingstädt located in Ronneburger agricultural and mining area. In the east-west direction of the Pöltschbach runs for the White Elster at Berga. To the east of the municipality of the regional watershed between the White Elster and splices runs. Close to the eastern boundary of the municipality rises on foreign corridor of Erdbach that feeds the Koberbach Dam together with the Koberbach and flows to the splices. The nearest towns are Berga (6 miles west), Werdau ( 11 km southeast ), Ronneburg (11 km north) and Crimmitschau (12 km northeast).

Adjacent communities include the city of Berga, Braunichswalde, Gauern and Mohlsdorf - Teichwolframsdorf district Greiz and the city Crimmitschau and Langenbernsdorf in the Saxon district Zwickau.

Community structure

Seelingstädt divided into the districts Chursdorf, Friedmann village, Seelingstädt and Zwirtzschen ( newest main statute of May 16, 2012). The district Seelingstädt in turn consists of the old Waldhufendorf Seelingstädt village and the newer and most populous part Seelingstädt Station. The district Culmitzsch at Friedmann village was devastated and had to give way to the uranium mining industry.

History

Seelingstädt was first documented in 1230. Seelingstädt and Chursdorf owe their foundation - like so many place the area - the missionary and colonizing activities of monks of the monastery in 1193 resulting Mildenfurth at Wünschendorf / Elster.

The legal affiliation of up to 1938 independent municipalities often changed, Chur village belonged for example 1502 upper and lower court Werdau, Seelingstädt contrast to Zwickau. Both came in 1547 from Ernestine to the Albertine Saxony. They were subject to a so-called Office villages only the country's sovereignty, were thus never a property rule and were subjected to the lower courts to exercise itself.

The first craftsman, who was named for Seelingstädt, in 1571, was a wheelwright. Soon the customer followed by a blacksmith. These were the craftsmen who served directly to the farmers and their work.

In Seelingstädt beer was brewed in the early Middle Ages. Around 1563 were destroyed by fire all the important sacred and secular legal rights to brew beer. That was for the townspeople Seeling a hard blow, because without a valid privilege they were not allowed to brew. In their distress they wrote in 1602 a letter to the electors and asked for renewal of the permit. In 1708 the still existing church Brauhaus originated in Seelingstädt.

A school is already mentioned in 1570 and also a " schoolmaster ". In 1680 the first school building in Seelingstädt is dated. After the school was too small and dilapidated, was created in 1824 a new school house to the payment ( in 2092 dollars, 13 dimes and 11 pennies ), there was heated argument between the districts. The still used as a refurbished Schullandheim former school building was built in 1894 at a cost of 25,000 marks, and served until the completion of the new school in the district Seelingstädt station in August 1965 ( cost 1.65 million dollars) as Seeling townspeople elementary school.

1958 went Seelingstädt from the circle to the circle Werdau Gera Gera and thus the district over which it eventually found its way to the state of Thuringia.

From 1949 was degraded by the Wismut in space Seelingstädt uranium ore in several open pits. At the site Seelingstädt was 1961, the processing operation 102 of bismuth in operation. The operation was by the end of 1990 on the raw material base of the Soviet nuclear industry. Insiders called the city therefore alluding to Russian city names also seeling degrees.

The buildings are now used by the Berufsförderungswerk Thüringen GmbH, which is the largest employer in the town with nearly 200 employees.

Religions

Seelingstädt and later the district Chursdorf 1533 was Protestant. 1925, Evangelical Lutheran 525 506 inhabitants and only twelve Roman Catholic.

The village has two churches: the St. John's church was built in 1898 in its present appearance after a new building of 62 community members was rejected in 1893. Only after 1894, the adjacent school building took place, and the church building again took concrete shape. The church has a Jehmlich organ and a Gothic window tracery from the year 1430.

The Christ Church in Chur village was built in the 13th century and rebuilt 1970-1981. It has a Jehmlich organ from 1909 and featured ceilings and gallery paintings dating from 1738-1740, and a beautiful baroque pulpit.

In July 2011, converted, for the first time in the Evangelical Lutheran. Parish Seelingstädt which in August 2002 working in the place Protestant minister and married father of a family to Catholicism.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1939 Chur village was incorporated. On 1 July 1973 Zwirtzschen was incorporated into Seelingstädt. On 1 January 1997 Friedmann village followed with the incorporated on 1 July 1968 Culmitzsch.

Population Development

1553/54 were 34 owned (r ) man, 18 servant (s) and 41 ½ hooves counted, 1764, there were 36 owned (r ) man, 10 cottagers and 22 ½ hooves of 20 bushels. The population was 1834 at 330 and rose to 1910 on 483. 1933 Seelingstädt 540 inhabitants and 1939 the population increased with the incorporation Chur village on 804 1990 lived after the incorporation Zwirtzschens and construction of multi-family homes in Seelingstädt Station 1734 inhabitants in the municipality.

Parish council

The municipal election of 27 June 2004 brought for the Free Wählergemeinschaft Seelingstädt, Chursdorf, Zwirtzschen, Friedmann village ( FWGSCZF ) five seats ( 46.5 %), for the CDU five seats (22.7% ) and for the Open Wählergemeinschaft Seelingstädt ( OWGS ) four seats ( 30.8 %). The turnout was 65.5 %.

Since the local elections of 7 June 2009 ( change to 2004), the council is composed as follows:

  • Free Wählergemeinschaft Seelingstädt, Chursdorf, Zwirtzschen, Friedmann village: 7 seats ( 2) 50.8% ( 4.3 )
  • CDU: 2 seats (-3) 19.6% (-3.1 )
  • Open Wählergemeinschaft Seelingstädt: 2 seats (-2) 22.2 % ( -8.6 )
  • FDP / Alliance for Seelingstädt: 1 seat ( 1) 7.4% (-)

The turnout was 61.0% (-4.5 ).

Economy and infrastructure

Established businesses

In operation since 1962 uranium processing plant was closed after the turn and the site redeveloped. Today it operates the SUC Saxon Environmental Consulting GmbH a system for microbiological treatment of organically contaminated hazardous and non-hazardous waste. There are also in place nor a concrete plant and several smaller craft and retail businesses.

A planned wind farm near the hamlet of Churchill village with ten wind turbines of 150 meters in only 200 meters from the border with Saxony has not been approved by the State Administration Office in Thuringia in October 2009. The Office saw it too strong impairment of nature and landscape protection, conservation, tourism and recreation on the Saxon side.

Traffic

By Seelingstädt leads the federal highway 175, also the places Seelingstädt Station and Chursdorf of the road L 1081 are traversed by Ronneburg to Werdau. In Seelingstädt Station 2337 branches across Seelingstädt village after Teichwolframsdorf, which lies along the municipal boundary and belonging to Braunichswalde industrial park morning sun is the starting point of the Saxon State Road S 294 to Crimmitschau - Mannichswalde and Neukirchen / splices. From 1876 until May 29, 1999, the municipality had connection to the railway from Wünschendorf / Elster to Werdau.
