Sergei Tiviakov

Sergey Tiviakov (formerly Russian Сергей Тивяков, German transcription: Sergei Tiwjakow, scientific transliteration Sergei Tivjakov; born February 14, 1973 in Krasnodar ) is a Dutch world-class chess player of Russian origin.

Tiviakov learned chess as a five year old. Between 1980 and 1984 he was a pupil of Vasily Smyslov in the chess school. In 1989 he started a professional career as a player and won in the same year the World Youth Championships U16. In 1990 he became Junior World Champion in the U18 category.
