Sid Barras

Sidney " Sid " Barras ( born April 3, 1948 in Middlesbrough) is a former English racing cyclist.

Sid Barras was a professional racing driver from 1970 to 1987 at this time., He won 380 victories, the most in racing in the UK. In 1979 he became British Champion in the road race, three times he won the Tom Simpson Memorial.

2008 Barras was British Champion of the over-50s. In the same year he was third in the Masters Road World Championships in St. Johann in Tirol ( 59 to 61 years).

After ending his active career in cycling, Sid Barras worked as sports director. In 2009 he was inducted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame.
