Siliqua, Sardinia
Siliqua is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3954 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Cagliari in Sardinia. The village is located approximately 27.5 km west-northwest of Cagliari at Parco della Sardegna Geominerario Storico ed Ambientale and directly borders the province of Carbonia -Iglesias.
History
The community is known for his Domus de Janas. In addition, the Castello di Maratea applies from the 13th century in the district Cixerri as a special attraction.
Traffic
In siliqua crosses leading from Cagliari to Iglesias Strada Statale 130 Iglesiente extending in the north-south direction Strada Statale 293 di Giba.
Siliqua has a station on the railway line Decimomannu -Iglesias. By train Cagliari, Iglesias and Carbonia are easy to reach.
About five kilometers southwest of siliqua is a small airfield (La tana del volo ) for light aircraft with a 400 -meter-long airstrip (09 /27).
