They brought the Socialist PSOE Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero heavy losses compared to the last elections in 2007. She is now in any of these 13 parliaments strongest party more while it was in the previous legislature still in Aragon, Asturias, Extremadura, Castile -La Mancha and the Canary Islands. This is offset by substantial gains of the conservative PP. These expanded its previously existing absolute majority in the regional parliament of Castilla- León, La Rioja, Madrid, Murcia and Valencia on. Except for Asturias and Navarra is the strongest force in all other of the 2011 elected parliaments and was able to win in the Balearic Islands and Castilla -La Mancha new absolute majority. The left-socialist IU succeeded in Extremadura and Castile-Leon the re-entry into parliament in which they had been 2007-2011 not represented.

Other notable results are the first-time collection of UPyD in the Asamblea de Madrid, the good performance of the Basque left nationalist electoral alliance Bildu in Navarre and that was only founded in 2011 as a breakaway from the Foro Asturias in Asturias PP immediately strongest force was.
