Steve Scalise

Stephen Joseph "Steve" Scalise ( born October 6, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American politician. Since 2008 he represents the state of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Steve Scalise first attended the Rummel High School and then studied at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He then worked as a software developer and chief marketing officer of a technology company. Politically, Scalise became a member of the Republican Party. Between 1995 and 2007 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Louisiana. In 2008 he was a member of the State Senate for several months.

Following the resignation of Mr Bobby Jindal, who was elected governor of Louisiana, Scalise was on the due election for the first parliamentary seat of Louisiana as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he took on 3 May 2008 his seat. After a re-election in the congressional elections of 2008 he can exercise his office until today. In the 2010 elections, he was confirmed in his mandate again with 79 % of the vote. He can probably take another two -year term in Congress and remain until January 3, 2013 in Congress on January 3, 2011. He is a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, and in two of its subcommittees. Steve Scalise is married to Jennifer, born in 1975 Letulle. The couple has two children.
