Strange Fruit Records

Strange Fruit Records is one of the UK's most successful independent record label that was founded in September 1986 by John Peel and Clive Selwood his friend. The main task was the publication of the Peel Sessions: artists played on Peel's invitation live in the studio of the BBC. Of these four pieces selected and released as an EP (mostly). First published in 1982, was also recorded second session of the then unknown New Order. In addition, Strange Fruit licensed some being removed from the catalog of other record companies albums, including by Small Faces, Mott the Hoople, Humble Pie and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
