Suriname at the 2008 Summer Olympics

Suriname was represented by participation in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in total for the 11th time in the Olympic Games. The first appearance was in 1960. Standard-bearer at the opening ceremony was with Anthony Nesty current athlete but the swimming legend of the country.

Athletics

Although Nieuwendam until two days after the Olympic Games, was 17 years old on August 26, she was not the youngest participant Surniames. The swimmer Chinyere Pigot is even younger; only three months before the tournament, on May 1, she was 15 years old.
