The Suzuki RGV 250 Gamma is a super sports motorcycle category, which was made from 1988 until 1997 by the Suzuki Motor Corporation.

The vehicle is driven by a water-cooled two-stroke engine V2. The power is transmitted via a chain. The engine uses unleaded gasoline and two-stroke oil in addition to the separate lubrication. The tank holds 17 liters, 5.5 liters in reserve.

The performance of the motorcycle is 49 kW ( 67 hp) with a torque of 40 Nm (both values at a speed of 11,000 min -1 and models of the last year of construction ).

There are a total of three series, the VJ21 ( 1988-1990), the VJ22 (1991-1994 ) and the VJ23 (until 1997), the latter, however, was no longer offered in Germany. The VJ21 and VJ22 are drive technically almost the same ( 90 ° V engine ), while the chassis has significant differences. Thus, the VJ22 has an upside -down fork, front and rear, a so-called " banana rocker " that bears the now one-sided arrangement of the two exhaust pipes invoice. The VJ23 was also drivenly a completely new development based on a 70 ° V engine.

There were problems common in the Auslaßschiebern that provide more torque in the lower speed range. A modified version was indeed available, but installed by the customer only in the wake of a complaint.

From 1995 to 2002, the Suzuki engine, the VJ22 was installed in the Aprilia RS 250, although this involved a direct competitor.
