Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 metre butterfly
The competition 's 200m Butterfly Women at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on July 31 and August 1, 2012 in London Aquatics Centre. 28 athletes took part.
There were four heats. The 16 fastest swimmers of all heats qualified for the two semi-finals, which were held on the same day. For the finals the next day here qualified the fastest eight starters on both runs.

Mireia Belmonte erschwimmt the first medal a Spanish swimmer. At the same time their silver medal is the first medal of Spain in this discipline. The time the winner Jiao Liuyang is the third fastest ever swum time the Spaniard Belmonte the ninth fastest. For the first time were all finalists under 2:08 minutes.
