Telluride Film Festival Silver Medallion
The Telluride Film Festival Silver Medallion is an American film prize, which is awarded every year at the Telluride Film Festival.
History
The Silver Medallion has been awarded since the first Telluride Film Festival in 1974. Each year, three people were initially awarded the prize, who have made a " significant contribution to the world of cinema ." Occasionally prices were also awarded to groups of people, organizations, magazines, films or television series.
Since 1995, a fourth Silver Medallion is awarded to a film-makers, film historian, film critic or an organization that has made outstanding contributions to the art of film.
