Tobias Hegewald

Tobias Hegewald ( born August 3, 1989 in Neuwied ) is a German racing driver. He entered 2011 in Formula 2 at.

Career

After Hegewald was active between 1995 and 2004 in karting, he moved to Formula racing and ran for two seasons in the German Formula BMW. After 20th place in the 2005 season, he finished 13th overall in 2006. In addition Hegewald went in 2005 and 2006 in four races in the U.S. Formula BMW at the start. 2007 moved Hege forest in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and finished 13th in the overall standings. In addition Hegewald was active in the North European Formula Renault, in which he won the runner-up title. 2008 Hege forest remained in the two series and improved in the Eurocup to fifth place in the overall standings. In the Northern European Formula Renault he finished third in the overall standings.

In the 2009 season Hegewald went into the revived Formula 2 at the start. On the third race weekend at Spa- Francorchamps Hegewald showed his potential and won both races from pole position starting and also set the fastest race lap. At the end of the season, he finished sixth overall. In addition Hegewald started on a race weekend of the Formula Renault 3.5. 2010 moved to the newly founded Hegewald GP3 series with the German team RSC Mücke Motorsport. Just as his teammates did not succeed also Hege forest in the GP3 series to draw attention to themselves. He came only twice in the points and ended the season at the 22nd place overall. His team finished in last place in the team standings. After the end of the GP3 season, he went to for Moto Park Academy in a race of the Formula 3 Euro Series. He immediately secured a point, finishing in 16th place overall. 2011 Hegewald returned to the Formula 2. With two podium finishes, he remained in the season without a win and finished sixth in the drivers' standings.
