Toby Alderweireld

Tobias Albertine Maurits Alderweireld ( born March 2, 1989 in Wilrijk ) is a Belgian footballer. Since the summer of 2013, the defender is the pro squad of the Spanish side Atlético Madrid.

Career

In the club

Alderweireld played until 2004 in Belgium at KFC Germinal Beerschot. He then moved into the youth academy of the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. For the season 2008/ 09 he was accepted into the professional squad and denied on January 18, 2009, his league debut in a 4-2 victory against NEC Nijmegen.
