Unterleinleiter

Unterleinleiter is a municipality in the district of Forchheim ( district government of Upper Franconia ) and a member of the administrative community Ebermannstadt.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the western Franconian Switzerland.

The community Unterleinleiter has two districts, Unterleinleiter and Dürr Brunn.

History

Unterleinleiter was the seat of the manor. The gentlemen of Motschiedler Gerau be called in 1372 as the first owner of " Leyreuther ". In the 16th century it became the property of the lords of Stübig and to the Knights of armed mountain. In 1523, the estate then the Peasants' War fell victim, but was soon rebuilt. 1690 went almost the entire village again in flames. In 1700 were the lords of Lüchau on the manor. From 1757 it acquired through marriage the Barons of Seckendorf. Thus, the town was also in the Franconian knights circle. With the Act of Confederation, in 1806 the city became part of Bavaria. The rights of the Seckendorf had been but always denied by the Bishopric of Bamberg, so that large parts of the municipal area in 1803 coincided with the secularisation of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. 1952 gave the Barons of Seckendorf to her castle in Unterleinleiter. On 1 April 1971, a large part of the former municipality of Dürr Brunn was incorporated.

The coat of arms description reads: Under a green wave plate main in a silver looped curved and outside occupied with four leaves red linden branch, bottom covered with a green sign, in a silver sickle.

Culture and sights

Structures

On the outskirts in an elevated position is lock Unterleinleiter in simple baroque forms. The plant with a park was thoroughly restored. In the park, which is accessible during artistic performances, numerous, mostly modern works of art are to be visited (including sculptures by Harro Frey ).

In the immediate vicinity of the castle stands the Protestant church.
