Uttenweiler

Uttenweiler is a municipality in the district of Biberach in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is located on the mountain of Upper Swabia, the buses between the cities of Biberach an der Riss and Riedlingen.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Uttenweiler Ahlen, buses, Dent Willingen, Dietershausen Dieter Kirch, Minderreuti, Oberwachingen, Offingen, Uttenweiler and Sauggart.

History

Uttenweiler is first mentioned in documents in 1173. The name allegedly goes back to the Blessed Uta, which should be 772 died here. Uttenweiler soon came under Austrian suzerainty. The then local Berthold from Stain donated in 1449 an Augustinian monastery in the community. As a result of Reichsdeputationshauptschluss circuit Uttenweiler came first in 1803 to the princes of Thurn and Taxis to fall in 1806 to the Kingdom of Württemberg. There it was assigned to the upper office Riedlingen and 1938 the county Saulgau. On January 1, 1973, the formerly independent communities Ahlen and Sauggart were incorporated to Uttenweiler. Today's church was re- formed on 1 October 1974 Association of Municipalities Uttenweiler, Dietershausen Dieter Kirch, Oberwachingen and Offingen.
