Vědomice

Vědomice ( German Wiedomitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located one mile north of Roudnice on the Elbe and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is located rechtselbisch against the Roudnice Elbe island in the Elbe loop. East of the village leads the state road 240 between Roudnice and Litoměřice over. Southeast is the Roudnice weir and the bridge over the Elbe.

Neighboring towns are Černěves and Zavadilka in the north, Kyskovice in the northeast, Dobříň in the east, in the southeast Bezděkov, Roudnice in the south, southwest, and Židovice Podlusky in the northwest.

History

Was first documented in 1555 Vědomice in an entry in the country table, which was also mentioned that the village in 1505 was transferred together with the rule Roudnice from the estate of Puta of Schwihau to his son.

Vědomice was beyond the periods January to IV of Draschitz built stone bridge that led into the area Zálabí over the Elbe. The village belonged to the rule Roudnice and was sold with her 1577 Wilhelm von Rosenberg. About his widow Polyxena of Lobkowicz reached the place where the Lobkowicz, who remained its owners until the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1848. Subsequently, the administration of the royal estates in Vědomice of Brozany nad Ohri was carried out. 1906-1910 was the building of the iron bridge over the Elbe, which replaced the stone.

In the second half of the 20th century Černěves was incorporated, in 1992 breaking away again.
