Víctor Claver

Víctor Claver Arocas ( born August 30, 1988 in Valencia ) is a Spanish professional basketball player. He plays the position of power forwards with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Career

Víctor Claver played in his youth the most important basketball club of his hometown, Valencia Basket Club. His league debut in the first team he celebrated on 12 October 2006 against FC Barcelona. With his team he reached the cup final in 2006 and won the 2009/10 ULEB Eurocup to where he was awarded the Eurocup Rising Star Trophy for the best player under 22 years. When NBA Draft 2009, he was selected as the 22nd pick of the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers, but played three more years in Spain before moving to Portland signed a three-year contract in the summer of 2012.

National

Víctor Claver won as a junior with Spain bronze at the U-18 European Championship in 2006 and at the U -20 European Championship in 2008. With the national team he won the gold medal at the European Basketball Championship in 2009 and at the European Basketball Championship in 2011. In the 2012 Olympics failed Claver with Spain until the endgame to the United States.
