Wapi Pathum District

Amphoe Wapi Pathum ( in Thai อำเภอ วาปีปทุม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Maha Sarakham. The Maha Sarakham Province is located in the center of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Kae Dam borders the following districts (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Na Dun to the Na Chueak, Borabue, Maha Sarakham and Mueang Kae Dam in the province of Maha Sarakham, as well as to the Amphoe Si Somdet, Chaturaphak Phiman, Kaset Wisai and Council of the province of Pathum Roi Et

History

The history of Amphoe Wapi Pathum goes back to Wapi Pathum Mueang, which was changed in 1900 to a Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Wapi Pathum is divided into 15 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 240 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Nong Saeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง แสง ), consisting of parts of the tambon Nong Saeng.

There are also 15 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
