Weightlifting at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's 69 kg

The weight lifting for women in the class up to 69 kg ( Light Heavyweight ) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 1 August 2012 at the Exhibition Centre London. It occurred in 15 athletes.

The competition consisted of two parts: Tear ( Snatch ) and put ( Clean and Jerk ). The participants at first in the snatch, in which they had three attempts. Who did not have a valid attempt was eliminated. In pushing each starter had three attempts again. Won The athlete with the highest weight added together. In the event of a tie, the lower body weight tipped the scales.

After three wins Chinese order in 2000, 2004 and 2008 there was the first Olympic victory of a North Korean woman in this weight class. Roxana Cocoş (ROM) and Marina Schkermankowa ( BLR) get the first medal gains for their countries in the light heavyweight division. Roxana Cocoş also scored the first medal win in the female weightlifters of Romania. The current as a favorite Russian Oksana Sliwenko, reigning world and European champion and silver medalist from Beijing, could not compete due to a training injury.
