1959 Milli Lig

The Milli Lig in 1959 was the first season of the highest Turkish league for football the men. It started on 21 February 1959, the first game day and ended with the return leg of the championship final between Fenerbahce Galatasaray Istanbul on 14 June 1959.

The League was then divided into two groups ( red and white ), each with eight teams. The teams on the first place in the table of both groups qualified for the final. In the final, there was a return game.

In the final rivals Fenerbahce and Galatasaray clashed. Galatasaray won the first leg 1-0 but lost the return leg 0-4 against Fenerbahçe. This Fenerbahce was the first official Turkish soccer champions. Descended is then no team.
