1975–76 Division 1 season (Swedish ice hockey)

The 1975/76 season was the first season of Division 1 as the second highest Swedish hockey league.

Mode

The league was divided into the main round in four groups, the Northern Group with 13 teams a participant had more than the other three groups. The top four teams from each group qualified for the playoffs, where the groups north and west, and the groups fought out South and East common playoffs. The two winners of each playoff group qualified again for the Kvalserien, ascended the top two teams directly in the Elitserien. The two last placed each main round group went directly into the Division 2. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
