1996 IIHF European U18 Championship
The 29th Hockey Championship U18 juniors took place from 7 to 14 April 1996 Ufa in Russia. The Games of the B group were held from 23 to 29 March 1996 in Sosnowiec and Tychy in Poland. The C group played from 15th to 19th March 1996 in Maribor in Slovenia. The Bulgarian capital Sofia was from 6 to March 10, 1996 venue for the D group.

Greece did not participate with the required minimum number of players on the European Championship. The games of the Greeks were canceled and counted as friendlies. They had lost to Yugoslavia with 0:14 and 0:5 against Israel. The placement also unofficial game against the third party of the other preliminary round group won the Greeks against Turkey 7:5 ( 2:2, 2:0, 3:3 ).
