1997–98 Élite Ligue season

The 1997/98 season was the 76th season of the Élite League, the highest French Hockey League. Masters were for the fourth time in club history the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble.

Mode

In the first season phase, the ten teams each completed 18 games. According to their placement in the first season phase, the teams were given between one and ten bonus points for the second season phase in which the teams also completed 18 games. The top eight teams in the second season phase qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. For a victory after regular time and overtime, each team was given two points, a draw and one defeat after overtime there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
