2006–07 Ekstraklasa

The Orange Ekstraklasa 2006/ 07 was the 73rd edition of the top Polish league in football. It took place until May 26, 2007 of 28 July 2006. 16 teams played a total of 30 game days divided into a back and a second round each against each other twice. For a victory, there were three, one for a draw and a defeat for no point. Master was at the end of the season the team with the most points descend, were bound to the two teams with the least points.

From the 2nd league 2005/ 06 two clubs had risen: ŁKS Łódź, Łódź Widzew which replaced the relegated Polonia Warsaw. Due to the merger of the associations of Amica Wronki and Lech Poznan was a free place in the Ekstraklasa, so the table Fifteenth Arka Gdynia could still qualify for the play-offs and the table Gornik Zabrze Fourteenth could keep the league without relegation. In the two relegation matches to Arka Gdynia 2:1 and 2:0, respectively sat through against Jagiellonia Białystok and was also able to hold the class.

From the Orange Ekstraklasa 2006/ 07, the Polish champions qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2007 /08. In the UEFA Cup 2007/08 runners-up (first qualifying round ) and Cup Winners' Cup starts ( second round ). In the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2007 starts a team.

Decisions

Polish Champion 2006/ 07 was Zagłębie Lubin, was runner- GKS Belchatow. By the Cup victory, Dyskobolia Grodzisk could qualify for the UEFA Cup, Legia Warsaw took part in third place at the Intertoto Cup.

As the first relegated stable Pogoń Szczecin, Wisła Płock well before relegation on the final day to the House. Through corruption scandals, the clubs Arka Gdynia and Górnik Łęczna were excluded from the game.
