37th Berlin International Film Festival
The International Film Festival Berlin 1987 took place until 3 March 1987 by 20 February.
The Berlinale was characterized by glasnost. The policy of Mikhail Gorbachev made it the movies that were previously outsourced in the so-called poison cupboard and were not allowed to be shown in Berlin, the first international forum found. Elem Klimov farewell Matyora was shown in a special performance. Gleb Panfilov film The theme in 1979 was even in the competition and eventually won the Golden Bear. In all sections of the Berlinale ran so-called Soviet " safe films."
