Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party

The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe ( ALDE, also ALDE Party) is a political party at European level, including the Liberal member parties across Europe. It was at the invitation of, inter alia, Martin Bangemann founded in Stuttgart on 26 March 1976 by 14 parties from time 7 EC Member States initially as Federation of Liberal and Democratic parties in the European Community ( ELD). On 30 April 2004, the company was established as a "political party at European level " under the name of European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party ( ELDR). On 10 November 2012, the party was renamed the ALDE. Currently (as of 2013), it has 55 member parties. The German member of the FDP, Austrian member of the NEOS.

The Secretariat of the ALDE is located in Brussels. In the European Parliament ALDE forms with the centrists of the European Democratic Party since the 2004 European elections a common fraction, which carries since 2004 the name of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe ( ALDE ). This faction currently has 85 MPs in the European Parliament, of which 75 of the ALDE party. The German national group in the Group is currently led by Alexander Graf Lambsdorff.

The youth organization of the ALDE is the European Liberal Youth Movement LYMEC, which is led by the German politician Alexander Plahr. LYMEC is made up of member organizations and individual members. The organization is the European Association of the German JuLis and LHG.
