Amay is a Belgian municipality in the Walloon Region. It is located in the province of Liège and has 13,863 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and an area of ​​27.61 km ². The village in the valley of the Meuse (French Meuse) is at an altitude of 65 meters ( level of the Meuse ) and 245 meters on the southern mountain ranges.

Liege is situated 20 kilometers north-west, 35 km southwest of Namur and Brussels, 75 kilometers north-west. The nearest motorway exit is Villers -le- Bouillet on the Belgian motorway " A15 ". The place has its own regional station on the railway line Namur -Liège.

Grave of St. plate. Chrodoara

One of the most grave trapezoidal plates of their era, the grave of St. Chrodoara plate was found in the choir of the collegiate church of St. Georges -Sainte Ode in Amay. She closed the coffin of a lady, who identifies them according to the inscription as Chrodoara. The image shows them as the Abbess with a staff in his hand.

Water Castle Jehay

The area was already ( BC 10000-4500 ) inhabited in the Middle Stone Age, as evidenced by the remains of a lake-dwelling village.

The manor from the 16th century has a striking facade in checkerboard pattern and a spacious park. The castle houses an extensive collection of contemporary interiors, silver and gold work.
