Saint- Nicolas ( Sint- Nicolêye Walloon ) is a municipality in the province of Liège in Belgium. It consists of the three districts Montegnée, Saint- Nicolas and Tilleur, which were merged in the course of 1977 come into force in local government reform.

Geography

The town of Saint -Nicolas is located about 90 km from the capital Brussels in the east of Belgium. The adjacent communities Grâce -Hollogne, Ans, Liege and Seraing are all in the Arrondissement of Liège.

History

Policy

The municipal council ( Conseil Communal ) from Saint -Nicolas has 27 members. Its composition after the municipal election held on October 8, 2006 is as follows: 19 members of the Party ( Parti Socialiste ), 7 members of the list ensemble that consists of members of the parties Réformateur Mouvement, Centre Démocrate Humaniste and Alternative Socialiste, and a member of the Green Party Ecolo. The College with the mayor and aldermen five ( Echevins ) is formed from the local council.
