Andy Roach

Andy Roach ( born August 22, 1973 in Mattawan, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who played in the DEL for the DEG Metro Stars.

Career

The 1.81 m tall defender started his career with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL and American junior league team in NCAA Ferris State University before he moved to the San Antonio Dragons in the International Hockey League in 1997.

More station in this Minor League up to 1999, the Long Beach Ice Dogs and the Utah Grizzlies, then signed a contract with the links Sagittarius German first division Krefeld Penguins. After a year at KEV Roach joined the Adler Mannheim, with whom he was German champion in 2001 and for which he stood until 2004 on the ice. About the HC Lausanne of Americans joined the 2005/06 season to the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League. There he was, however, used only five times and still returned in the same season in the Swiss National League A for the ZSC Lions back. As of 2006, Roach played four years for the Polar Bears Berlin, with whom he celebrated in 2008 and 2009 two DEL championships in a row. In August 2010, the defender moved on to league rivals DEG Metro Stars. After a strong season in which it claimed the expert committee of the Hockey News in the top 10 managed the veteran defender of the 2010/2011 season, his contract was extended by a further year. The decisive factor was the particular points haul of three times German Champion 39 points with 10 goals scored.

Internationally

For the American ice hockey team Andy Roach denied the Ice Hockey World Championships in 2004 and 2005.
